I love this place!
I love this place!!! I would fly here once a month if I had a lot of expendable cash and plenty of spare time. I'm so glad that Lumiere was fully booked and couldn't take any walk-in reservations forcing us to stumble upon DB. I want to first start off by saying how beautiful the restaurant is and how accommodating and pleasant the serving staff is. In the beginning I didn't feel like we belonged, but the serving staff was so welcoming it made the experience comfortable and easy going. For my meal, I ordered the three course Prix Fix Dinner. The soup du jour wasn't that great, that might be due to the fact I'm not a soup girl, but the other two courses was a dream come true. The main course was a coq au vin w/spaetzle topped with a Peach Sundae for desert. Believe me when I say OMG!!!!!!! I had coq au vin before, but never like this, it made me fall in love with food all over again. It was the perfect meal, perfect balance of ingredients. Now that I've tasted good food I can never go back!!! Darn you DB, you've spoiled me.-- EP, Davis California
Cooking Class!
Hi Chris, I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know how much Jeremy and I enjoyed the cooking class and dinner on Monday evening. It was really neat to see what goes on "behind the scenes" of the restaurant, and of course the meal afterwards was absolutely fantastic. Madeleines
I drove up to Vancouver from WA state to have Mother's Day Brunch at Moderne. The meal was fabulous as was the service. I am curious to know the recipe of your Madeleines......there are many recipes out there but your were crisp, compared to most. Could have been the size but they were awesome. Do you serve them at all your brunches or just special ones.-- Marie Anti
Amazing Food, Excellent Service
Thanks again for the red carpet treatment at DB's. My client from Germany has a factory in Alsace, France where Chef Stephane is from and he was very familiar with the origin of the dishes. We were very impressed with the food. The service was awesome and Chris did an excellent job taking care of us.-- Ben C
Big or Small, Class for all
Last night 45 of my colleagues and I were treated to a world class dinner at db and we were not disappointed! The dinner was extraordinary, the service sublime and the overall experience exceptional. I have been to db for dinner with my wife, for lunch with my wife and children and now dinner with my colleagues. Thank you for validating my endorsement of your fine restaurant. The new manager Chris is a great new addition as well. He catered to our every need as did the entire db staff. I know my colleagues were quick to tell me they would be back with their own family and friends in the near future. So will I!-- Walter
